Another week, another trip down to the coast.  It almost seems blasphemous not to take full advantage of the hot, sunny weather we’ve been having so when a road trip was suggested to Lewes and Brighton there was absolutely no way I was going to turn it down.  This isn’t really much of a post, but more of a collection of photos of things that caught my eye was we wandered around.
We first hit Lewes, a historical town surrounded by rolling hills and filled with antique shops and blue plaques informing you of the history in the area all around you (not limited to, but including a pub which is thought of as the cradle of American independence).
Heading to the top of the town, up a cobbled street we walked around the castle and past a bowling green which as been in place since 1640.
After stopping in at the tiny Lewes Arms for a small refreshment we headed over the hills and a series of winding country lanes into Brighton.

Wandering in a roundabout fashion we passed the famous Royal Pavillion, built by George Prince of Wales in 1787 in the Indo-Saracenic style and from there headed down to the beach and Pier where the sun was breaking through the clouds to hit the ocean perfectly, and the arcade was noisily buzzing and whirring.
After a few rounds on the 2p machines, winning a car simulator race and absolutely nailing Time Crisis we hopped in the car and sped back up the motorway to the smoggy warmth of London.
